Since its inception in 2015, Takalani Foundation has managed to get eleven learners to institutions of higher learning. All of them are doing well in different academic institutions across the Republic of South Africa, pursuing qualifications in various fields such as engineering, operations management, microbiology, public relations and physiotherapy.
As Takalani Foundation, we are proud to make it known that all those students receive financial and mentoring support from us. We can’t wait for the day in which all of them will be taking all of us to their respective graduation halls for their big days – thus just in three to four years time from now. This image of the future gives us confidence and elevates our commitment to building the nation through education.
This year alone (2017), we have adopted a huge number of learners from four secondary schools under the jurisdiction of Vhembe District Municipality in Limpopo Province. Two hundred of those learners are in grade 12. Based on the last year’s matric pass rate where Limpopo came out to be one of the poor performing provinces, we believe that our efforts are going to contribute meaningfully towards a better matric pass rate this year. We hope that at least 164 out of 200 leaners under our guidance and support are going to make it to institutions of higher learning.
As part of our commitment to realise our vision, we will be hosting one of our many funding initiatives on 08 July 2017 – fundraising gala dinner. We will appreciate your support as you will be committing yourselves towards a common goal, thus to send deserving leaners to institutions of higher learning.
More details regarding the fundraising gala dinner will be communicated to you in the next few days from now.
